What Is Passive UAV Acoustic Localization Technology & Working Mechanism

Unlike active radar devices that emit electromagnetic waves, our MEMS acoustic counter-UAS system adopts full passive sensing architecture, which only receives external sound signals without any signal radiation, achieving ultra-high concealment for military and sensitive area deployment.

The multi-arm spiral 64-channel microphone array collects wideband acoustic signals ranging from 20Hz to 80kHz, capturing unique vibration harmonic features generated by drone rotors and drive motors. After synchronous 192kHz sampling by the acquisition board, optimized Delay-Sum and MVDR beamforming algorithms cooperate with self-developed anti-reverberation AI models to eliminate urban building reflection noise, output real-time 3D spatial coordinates of UAV targets, and overlay positioning markers synchronously on 1080P camera video streams for visual early warning.
